I'm replying to comments that are "grey" and they're staying grey despite the fact that I'm approved. Is this a new undocumented feature where we're unable to promote things out of purgatory?

It just seems to be glitchy. Sometimes it works when I just comment back, sometimes I have to actually approve.

It has happened to me on occasion, but only on specific articles and not others. I recommended my own post and it fixed it. Glitch in the Kinja.

Just get enough quality comments under your belt and then just ask. And give a reasonable explanation for why you should be approved. I simply asked Matt in a comment on TMS and he granted.
